Our 26th Annual Gala, Harvest of Hope, held on November 17, 2016 was a truly exciting and inspiring event. We would like to thank all who made this evening possible, including our very generous sponsors and guests. The gala is our largest fundraiser of the year, and with your support we are able to continue providing the much-needed services and programs to Milwaukee’s children and families.
We would like to extend a big congratulations to the 2016 Youth of the Year and Reinhart Scholarship Winner, Timberley Brown. Her wise words and message on the importance of using your voice for change left all inspired. We would also like to thank Kaye Garcia and the Forest County Potawatomi, this year’s winner of the Ray Richardson Award, for their many years of support towards our outdoor environmental education program. Finally, we are grateful to keynote speaker Clarence Johnson for sharing the impact Neighborhood House has had, and continues to have in his life.
We can’t wait to see you again next year!
With your donations given at our gala:
- … you’ve strengthened families. Our top-rated child care, Early Head Start, and multifaceted after-school programs help parents and children thrive regardless of income.
- … you’ve opened doors through education. Our early child care and youth programs help kids develop their innate curiosity, along with the social and academic skills they need to succeed. Parents learn ways to be their child’s first teacher, and teens learn to set goals and plan for their futures.
- … you’ve built community. Our programs encourage people of all ages to connect and invest in the greater community through service opportunities, internships, community gardening, neighborhood forums, nature outings, and monthly family-friendly events. Neighborhoods improve when people develop a sense of ownership in their environment.
