Recent Grant Awards

ILC is grateful for three recent grant awards. The Milwaukee Peace Corps Association is giving $500 to support field trips. CVS Pharmacy is giving $500 for child safety seats for students. The Ziemann Foundation has renewed a $7500 grant for our evening transportation and youth programs. We are grateful to these organizations for their support.

ILC Presents at National Adult Ed Conference

ILC was honored to have been selected to present at an upcoming national conference for adult educators, the first joint COABE/ ProLiteracy Conference, “Coming Together in Chicago.” Our presentation was titled “Refugees’ Stories: Perspectives on the Challenges of Cultural Adjustment in the US.”  It featured a video of ILC staff members from Hmong, Lao, and Somali Bantu refugee groups sharing…
