It was a (Neighborhood) House Party Not to be Missed! Community Unity Day 2016

Community Unity Day- The 2nd annual Community Unity Day was an absolute blast, with Neighborhood House kids, families, and supporters coming together to celebrate another great year of serving Milwaukee’s Near West Side!

After a few words from Neighborhood House Executive Director, Jeff Martinka, SHARP Literacy President & CEO, Lynda Kohler, and SHARP Literacy Board Chair, Doug Erlacher, all were treated to the much-anticipated unveiling of the Garden Park’s newest addition: a beautiful mosaic bench created by artist Sally Duback with the help of Neighborhood House kids, in collaboration with SHARP Literacy.

The rest of the afternoon brought us dance performances from our teens, early childhood, and youth progr

ams, a thrilling show put on by the talented (and high-flying!) gymnastics group The Milwaukee Flyers, archery lessons from the Wisconsin DNR, a Farmer’s Market run entirely by Neighborhood House teens, art activities, roller skating, and more.
